To keep or not to keep. That's the question today. I'm conflicted, as I'm in possession of an incredibly cool Anschutz palm rest that I'm holding--maybe selling--for a friend. He's up in years and doesn't do ebay or gunbroker. I'm either going to buy it for my Anschutz LG380 rifle or sell it off for him. Either way, he gets the money and I get either the palm rest or the remorse.
Figured I'd post some pics of it and share it with the blog as it's a fairly esoteric piece of precision shooting equipment that we don't often see.
It's huge. Adjusts in every possible way. Angle, height, cant... The black stippled handle is even removable and can be attached directly to the bottom of the forearm rail.
Virtually mint condition.
I've got an Anszhutz catalog printed in 1984 that shows this exact piece, though I know they made it for several years.
Don't we all do this with our hobbies? Come across something we want, but really can't justify buying? Part of the conflict is the fact that palm rests like this aren't permitted in 10-meter competition anymore and I'm going to attempt to start shooting at the club level again this winter.
Yeah, I know. Boo hoo. Poor me and my dilemmas. So, it's not inexpensive, but it's not quite insane money either--and it is period correct for my match rifle. See? Now, I'm starting to justify it.
