Look back over some of the spring gun tunes...Bret,

Look back over some of the spring gun tunes we've done for lube tips. The BAM B26-2 series may be helpful. Maccari heavy tar is often used on 124 mainsprings--just a thin coat. you'll also need some moly grease for pivots and the trigger. Motorcycle shops sell a Honda brand grease for drive shafts. It's something like 60% moly and works great as a general purpose grease for spring guns. It's also easy for most people to find locally. If you need a substitute for the Maccari heavy tar, you could use a mix of moly grease and some dielectric grease--the stuff you put on spark plugs. The thick grease acts as a vibration damping agent. Every auto parts store will have it.

Hope this helps.

Derrickderrick38https://www.blogger.com/profile/07453249070532046877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2378835029459742413.post-37316464488909064992009-07-16T18:07:44.065-07:002009-07-16T18:07:44.065-07:00Thanks Guys,

It's good to go for probably the next 20 years.

The 124's one of the few guns I would NEVER want to take apart without a spring compressor. That mainspring is super long. Lots of free travel once the end cap comes off.

Derrickderrick38https://www.blogger.com/profile/07453249070532046877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2378835029459742413.post-4536112415904119232009-07-15T10:30:56.909-07:002009-07-15T10:30:56.909-07:00I'm planning on doing my FWB 124 eventually, h...I'm planning on doing my FWB 124 eventually, have the new spring and seal. But I like your blogs how you tear your guns down with detailed info. and how you get them working and looking better than they did when you got them.
So I searched your blog but I couldn't find any info. on a FWB 124. I was wondering if you could do a detailed tune on one or if you had some info. how to do it for a D.I.Y. project.
Thanks, BretBretnoreply@blogger.com
